4-19-10 Now we've got 9 here in Green Dragon. The 4 new ones we just brought over did much better at adapting to the Kiwi Feeding System than the original batch!

4-24-10 We've got all those nice nests in the barn, but we always seem to have a few chickens who like to find their own, creative hide-aways! This spot is right next to our basement.

4-25-10 Picture 1 of 2 - Six of the eight "runaways"...

4-25-10 Picture 2 of 2 - The last 2 of the 8 "runaways"... Thank you, Lord, for keeping these calves safe as they wandered out of their accidentally unlocked pen last night. We know it was You keeping them together and safe from harm. Read "the rest of the story" in my blog post dated 4-25!

4-28-10 Enticing Echo to make the big trip next door to Green Dragon. Can't believe he & Foxtrot are already 2 weeks old!

4-28-10 Here's Foxtrot... ready to join the other 10 in Green Dragon.

4-28-10 These 2 caught on really quick to their new "bottle"!

4-28-10 Thought this was a cute picture with all the other calves waiting in the background! We try to give the new ones a headstart...

4-28-10 Magpie & her new kittens, born just a few hours ago!

4-29-10 A view from our table at Stark State's Sustainable Farming event. Got to meet & talk to a lot of students about how & why we farm the way we do!

4-29-10 Magpie's babies at 28 hours old...

4-30-10 Friends of ours offered Paul some strawberry "starts"... hopefully next year at this time, his raised bed will be overflowing with plants & we'll all enjoy a bountiful berry harvest in June 2011.

5-8-10 God sent this rainbow right before bible study began tonight. Thank you, Lord, for sending us reminders that you always keep your promises!

5-9-10 Magpie's babies are now 11 days old - they have such fat, round tummies, all they can do is cuddle & sleep! (Adorable...)

5-12-10 This is no ordinary, upside-down tub...

5-12-10 Quesadilla (yellow cat on right) began having her kittens last night, & Squirt started having her kittens this morning! So, now this tub has turned into a communal nursery!

5-12-10 How awesome it is to be able to witness more of God's miracles! Looks like 4 kittens -

5-13-10 "Squir-dilla's" four kittens at one day old... all blond! Appears as though the mama cats are "tag-teaming" mom-duties!

5-26-10 Paul with Magpie & her 4 kittens. At one month old, they are officially named: Eenie, Meenie, Minie, & Mo! (3 girls & 1 boy)

5-26-10 Mike is teaching Michael how to "ted" the hay on the BIG tractor... oh my, can't believe Michael's big enough to be learning this!!!

5-27-10 The "Squir-dilla's" at 15 days old.

5-27-10 This is Amy, beginning to have her calf. This is picture number 1 in a series of 5... It's so exciting when we get to witness His miracles on our farm! In this picture, her calf's head and front two feet are out.

5-27-10 Now Amy stands before pushing her calf completely out...

5-27-10 Introducing: "Mary" - our 12th calf. She makes this year's count now 6 heifers & 6 bulls.

5-27-10 Here's Mary a couple hours later - after a good cleaning & feeding from her Mama!

5-27-10 And lastly, here is Mary up on her feet! (That's her Dad in the background - FYI!)

6-2-10 Today we're bringing 10 calves from last spring back home to our farm. Our cousin raised them for us on his farm in Louisville since we don't have enough fenced in pastures yet... Here's the first five back home, safe & sound! We are so thankful for Ernie's help! We're also thankful the Coys allow us to borrow their trailer for transporting our animals. How blessed we are!!

6-2-10 Here they are off the trailer... don't they look great?!

6-2-10 Here's the 2nd batch from Ernie's...reuniting with their friends!

06-05-10 This picture is about our bees. This is called a "supersedure cell" or "emergency cell". Something must have happened to our queen, and the hive was trying to grow a new one, only it got too cold & they died. Just a guess...
